How to get to Kangaroo Island

Kangaroo Island is located 15km off the coast of mainland South Australia and can be reached via ferry or plane.  Regional Express Airline operates flights from Adelaide Airport to the Cygnet River Airport, located 13km from Kingscote.  The flight takes approximately 30 minutes.  Alternatively, SeaLink operates a ferry service from Cape Jervis on the mainland to Penneshaw.  The crossing takes approximately 45 minutes and vehicles can be taken on the ferry.  The journey from the city centre of Adelaide to Cape Jervis takes approximately 2 hours.

How to get to the Kangaroo Island Lodge

The Kangaroo Island Lodge is located in American River, a short 25 minute drive from the airport or ferry terminal.  From the main road, called Hog Bay Road (B23), look for the American River turnoff.  Follow American River Road and then Buicks Drive for 7km until you reach Scenic Drive.

There is no public transport or taxi services on Kangaroo Island, so prebooking transfers is highly recommended.
